The phased redevelopment works consist of refurbishment and remodelling of the four-storey Maurice Foss building and the construction of a new four-storey teaching facility adjacent to the existing School of Art and Design accommodation.
Works also include refurbishment and remodelling of an existing art and design workshop, and full remodelling and refurbishment of the Graham Sutherland building, an existing seven-storey tower.
KEY CHALLENGES ACCOMPLISHED
Programme – Coventry University’s programme contained multiple phases meaning careful consideration was had for how MEP works were designed for delivery. We the reviewed the requirements for the phased handovers and ensured absolute clarity was provided to all parties.
Quality – Due to the refurbishment nature of the works we understood there was some retention of existing plant and equipment. We developed a fully detailed report on the exact nature of this equipment, its current state and its likely life cycle. We also ensured the equipment was considered in our commissioning strategy, and we gave Coventry University full details of all future maintenance requirements.
