Dowds completed the Mechanical and Electrical installations of this exciting office accommodation, reception and event space. Designed with sustainability in mind, The Dock is a beautiful building with a wealth of innovative features and a BREEAM Excellent status.
This project was a Cat A fitout of a 5 storey, 65,000sq ft contemporary workspace including a new shared reception/ event space, canal side café, WCs, and basement bike stores.
Expressed timber construction and exposed concrete columns create a unique interior, while the green roof, solar shading and outdoor terraces continue the environmental theme outside.
As part of the refurbishment programme, Dowds installed sustainable PV units and heat pumps and low- energy LED lighting to achieve the coveted ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating. This was a challenging task in part of a 100-year-old building that had never been designed to incorporate modern infrastructure.
