Dowds have recently been awarded to work alongside main contractor Mace, on the retrofit of an existing office block in Central London for legal power house Taylor Wessing.
Taylor Wessing are investing in the future of their 5 New Street Square office with an extensive refurbishment and a vision for “a reimagined, modernised and more sustainable London headquarters”. The project comprises fit-out and refurbishment of Levels 1-4 and 9 & 10. Dowds’ scope of works will include delivering the M&E package across 4no. working floors with interconnected staircases, a client meeting floor, terrace works, a new catering kitchen and dining facilities.
With a key focus on decarbonisation and circular economy, the building services design by ChapmanBDSP delivers energy efficiency to meet the client brief, in line with BCO guidelines. Changes will include a new reception, lifts and an outdoor communal terrace, as well as the decarbonisation of the building by replacing old gas boilers with new air-source heat pumps to set it on a pathway to net zero carbon. The new space will target a minimum of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold Core.
